The US State Department has approved a potential $83.14 million sale of Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System–Alternative Warheads (GMLRS-AW) to Singapore. The package includes 45 M30A2 rocket pods, along with telemetry kits, engineering services, and logistical support. Designed for precision strikes, the system can engage wide-area targets using fragmentation while limiting collateral damage. Compatible with HIMARS and M270 launchers, it strengthens Singapore’s artillery capabilities. Analysts note that future upgrades could allow extended-range munitions, significantly increasing strike distance and operational flexibility.
