Germany has expanded its IRIS-T missile procurement under multiple contracts with Diehl Defence, covering aerial and ground-based variants. The program supports fleet integration on combat aircraft and bolsters short- and medium-range air defense systems. The IRIS-T family, known for its imaging infrared guidance and maneuverability, forms a key component of Germany’s layered air defense strategy. Deliveries under the framework agreement will continue through 2030 as Diehl scales up production to meet rising domestic and international requirements.
