The US Navy has issued Raytheon a $29.2 million contract modification to expand tooling and test equipment for the SM-6 All Up Round missile. Rather than procuring missiles directly, the investment strengthens manufacturing infrastructure to increase output and maintain quality. The SM-6 is a versatile interceptor capable of engaging aircraft, cruise missiles, and terminal-phase ballistic threats. Recent foreign military sales to Japan and Germany underscore its importance in allied air and missile defense architectures.
