Sweden has expanded its CAMM missile acquisition through an amendment to its 2023 agreement with MBDA, ensuring additional stock for upcoming naval upgrades. The Visby-class corvettes will receive the Sea Ceptor system during modernization work scheduled to start in late 2025, with Saab partnering on installation. Deliveries of upgraded ships will begin in 2026. CAMM provides 360-degree coverage thanks to its soft-launch vertical firing system, which reduces emissions and increases survivability. Its supersonic speed, 25-kilometer engagement radius, and active radar seeker give it strong capability against simultaneous aerial threats. Lightweight and versatile, CAMM can be integrated onto platforms of various sizes while avoiding the costs associated with traditional fire-control radars.
