RTX-owned Pratt & Whitney has finalized a multi-year engine deal valued at $2.8 billion to deliver F135 engines for the global F-35 program. The contract spans 141 propulsion units designated for multiple stakeholders: the US armed forces, allied partners, and foreign customers. Manufacturing operations are spread across the US, with major output centered in East Hartford (Connecticut), Indiana, and Washington, while additional states contribute to component and assembly work. The company also maintains certain overseas production sites to support demand. Completion is slated for 2028, strengthening the supply chain for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, one of NATO’s most strategically significant aircraft.
