Russia is now producing the first foreign-bound batch of Su-34M fighters for Algeria, verified by satellite imagery showing distinctive brown-and-yellow camouflage aligned with Algerian geography. This production is tied to a 2019 contract for 14 Su-34MEs, 14 Su-35Es, and 14 Su-57Es, to be delivered by 2025. The Su-34Ms will replace Algeria’s Soviet-era Su-24Ms and allow deep-strike missions reaching central Europe or the Persian Gulf. This acquisition cements Algeria as the first export customer for the type and signals Moscow’s strengthening defense presence in Africa.
