Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, has signed a supply contract with Dynetics, a Leidos company, to provide TJ150 engines for Dynetics’ Small Cruise Missile project, Black Arrow.
The TJ150 turbojet engine is lightweight, reliable, and built for quick production. It generates 150 pounds of thrust and is designed for high-altitude performance across various autonomous and weapon systems for global customers.
Initial integration efforts between the two companies started in 2023, with formal work under this agreement commencing in April 2025 and expected to run until early 2026. The contract also includes options for follow-on engine orders. Pratt & Whitney continues to produce and refine the TJ150, with a strong emphasis on affordability.
Currently, the TJ150 is used in several missile programs, with more than 2,700 engines already delivered worldwide. The company is also incorporating additive manufacturing techniques to maintain the engine’s reliability while enhancing production flexibility and broadening its supplier network.
