South Korea is preparing to transfer a KF-21 Boramae fighter prototype to Indonesia as part of a revised cost-sharing agreement in their joint development program. The deal, valued at around $406 million, reflects adjustments made after Indonesia scaled back its financial contribution. Initially committed to funding 20 percent of the project, Indonesia reduced its investment due to financial constraints, leading to renegotiations. Despite setbacks, the program has progressed, with multiple prototypes built and tested. The KF-21, designed to replace aging fighter fleets, entered production in 2024 and is expected to be deployed soon. The agreement also reinforces continued defense cooperation between the two nations, with potential future aircraft sales on the horizon.
