Sweden and Denmark have jointly announced a $290-million procurement of air defense systems for Ukraine, aimed at strengthening the country’s ability to counter ongoing Russian aerial attacks. Sweden will contribute approximately $234 million of the total, with Denmark covering the remainder, to supply the TRIDON Mk2 mobile anti-aircraft artillery system. The announcement comes as Ukraine continues to face sustained missile and drone strikes that have severely damaged its energy infrastructure. Although recent analysis indicates a slight reduction in Russian strike volumes, critical electricity, heating, and water systems remain under pressure, pushing parts of the country toward a humanitarian crisis.
