The UK Ministry of Defence has given Chemring Group’s Roke subsidiary a framework contract to oversee a broad spectrum of research initiatives that support the nation’s missile defense.
The 251-million-pound ($333 million) deal is a collaborative endeavor with the goal of defending the UK and its allies against both existing and potential threats, such as ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
Roke will supply essential project elements and work with industry partners who are in charge of the majority of the contract’s execution, in collaboration with the UK Missile Defence Centre (MDC).
Bringing together technical specialists from throughout the UK defense industry is one of the project’s components.
Over 95% of the contract value will be provided by a UK-based workforce, which will help to create and maintain national missile defense capabilities.
