The Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces presented their enhanced Type 12 long-range missile launcher at the annual Fuji Firepower Exercise.
Held in Shizuoka, the event invited thousands of students and their families to observe military operations and foster recruitment interest.
Mounted on a mobile 8×8 chassis with four launch tubes, the system is part of Tokyo’s push for greater missile defense and offensive reach.
Deployment will begin in 2025 across seven regiments stretching from Hokkaido to Okinawa, following production that began in 2023.
