The US Department of Defense has awarded Boeing an $8.5-billion contract to supply 25 F-15IA fighters to the Israeli Air Force, with options for an additional 25 aircraft. Part of a foreign military sale, the program covers assembly, integration, and testing at Boeing’s St. Louis facility, in coordination with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The F-15IA, Israel’s variant of the F-15EX Eagle II, is equipped with advanced AESA radar, IRST sensors, targeting pods, electronic countermeasures, and twin afterburning engines capable of Mach 2.5. Deliveries begin in 2031, reinforcing interoperability with Israel’s F-22 and F-35 platforms and modernizing its combat air fleet in response to regional threats.
