The Indian Navy is moving forward with the development of a carrier-operable stealth combat drone designed to support future naval operations. Building upon technologies from the Ghatak unmanned aircraft program, the proposed NUCAV will combine offensive, reconnaissance, and support functions within a single platform. The project reflects India’s efforts to incorporate advanced autonomous systems into frontline naval forces. By enabling missions such as strike operations, intelligence gathering, and aerial refueling, the aircraft could significantly strengthen carrier air wing capabilities and improve operational flexibility across the Indo-Pacific region.
