Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace is scaling its Kaalbhairav UAV into a MALE-class platform capable of carrying larger payloads and performing extended missions. The design retains its efficient aerodynamic layout, supporting improved endurance and operational flexibility. The UAV is intended for ISR roles, including battlefield reconnaissance and maritime domain awareness, with provisions for future weaponization. Its 1-ton class capacity enables integration of advanced sensors and possibly precision-guided munitions, positioning it as a cost-effective alternative to imported systems. The development reflects a growing trend of Indian startups entering the MALE UAV segment, traditionally dominated by foreign manufacturers.
