Saudi Arabia has entered the long-range strike drone market with the introduction of the SKYWASP, a new one-way attack drone designed for deep precision strikes. Developed by SR2Vector, the unmanned platform reportedly offers an operational range of approximately 1,500 kilometers, allowing it to engage targets located far beyond the front lines. The drone features a delta-wing configuration, blended fuselage, nose-mounted payload compartment, and rear-mounted pusher propeller, giving it a design similar to Iran’s Shahed-series loitering munitions. The introduction of the SKYWASP reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on expanding its domestic defense manufacturing capabilities while strengthening its long-range unmanned strike options. Its extended range and relatively simple design could make it suitable for strategic missions involving infrastructure, military installations, or other high-value targets.
