A collaborative effort between Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and advanced manufacturing company Divergent has resulted in the rapid development of the Replicator drone prototype within 12 months. The project utilized Divergent’s DAPS platform, which combines digital design, simulation, manufacturing, and validation processes into a single streamlined ecosystem. By leveraging additive manufacturing and digital engineering technologies, the partners dramatically accelerated the transition from concept to physical hardware. The achievement highlights how emerging production methods can shorten development cycles, lower costs, and enable defense organizations to respond more quickly to evolving operational requirements.
