French defense company Safran and Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar have signed a cooperation agreement focused on unmanned aerial systems, advanced sensors, navigation technologies, and precision-guided weapons integration. Under the partnership, Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 drones will integrate Safran’s Euroflir electro-optical targeting systems to improve surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting performance. The cooperation also includes work on integrated solutions combining precision-guided capabilities and advanced positioning systems for drone-based operations. Both companies indicated that the partnership could expand into wider industrial collaboration involving technology development and international market activities. The agreement strengthens Baykar’s network of Western subsystem suppliers while allowing Safran to gain access to one of the world’s most widely exported tactical drone platforms.
