French company Exosens has secured its largest-ever order for drone imaging technology, supplying thousands of ultra-compact thermal camera cores to a European autonomous air defense developer. These sensors will be integrated into interceptor drones, enabling real-time detection, tracking, and engagement of airborne threats. The deal highlights the increasing role of embedded imaging systems in modern warfare, where onboard sensors enhance autonomy, reduce response time, and minimize reliance on external guidance. The growing adoption of drone and counter-drone technologies is driving demand for such solutions, particularly those that can be integrated early in development cycles. In parallel, Exosens is expanding its presence in Europe through major night vision contracts, including a German-led program to supply over 200,000 image intensifier tubes for advanced goggles, reinforcing its position in defense optics.
