Researchers from UTS and HKUST are collaborating on the Shepherd Grid Strategy, a drone defense system inspired by wolf pack hunting methods. The approach uses layered defenses where UAVs coordinate to chase, track, and strike hostile drones. By mimicking natural predator tactics, the system could counter persistent UAV threats. The project highlights the importance of bio-inspired design in next-generation defense technologies.
