To help with the manufacture of two more Virginia-class attack submarines for the US Navy, General Dynamics has obtained a $12.4 billion contract. The deal, which was originally intended to be awarded in 2024, will cover SSN-812 (USS Baltimore) and SSN-813 (USS Atlanta), both in the Block V configuration. The money will be used to increase productivity at the company’s shipyards, including expanding its workforce.
