Hermeus has secured $350 million in funding to accelerate the development of its high-speed unmanned aircraft, aiming to produce one of the fastest platforms currently in operation. The investment brings the company’s valuation to $1 billion and supports expansion of its testing program. Instead of relying on a single prototype, Hermeus plans to deploy a fleet of three aircraft roughly the size of an F-16, enabling simultaneous testing and faster data collection. Its latest prototype, Quarterhorse Mk 2.1, has already completed its first flight, marking a key milestone toward achieving supersonic performance. This approach demonstrates a shift toward rapid iteration and scalable testing in aerospace innovation.
