Israel-based defense startup Insignito has been awarded a defense contract to provide 180 of its “Dumbo” acoustic UAS detection systems for VIP site protection. The rollout begins in early 2026 and will expand throughout the year until all units are operational. Each installation will employ six synchronized sensors that detect drones via acoustic triangulation, providing real-time positional data without relying on radar. Tested in both Israel and the US, the Dumbo network demonstrated reliable detection of drones up to 2,000 meters away. Insignito’s cost-efficient and portable system is gaining traction among security agencies and defense organizations facing a surge in drone-related threats. Supported by $1.5 million in venture investment from Fresh Defense Fund and ICI Fund, the company plans to enter North American and European defense markets in 2026. The Dumbo’s modular design enables deployment in sensitive areas, urban centers, and border zones, offering continuous 360-degree acoustic surveillance. Insignito will present the technology at an upcoming Tel Aviv UAS convention showcasing counter-drone innovations. The contract underscores growing international recognition of Israeli expertise in anti-drone technology and highlights Insignito’s emergence as a competitive player in the counter-UAS sector.
