Under a contract valued at up to $490 million, the US Air Force has tasked Trust Automation with accelerating the development of unmanned and counter‑drone technologies.

The agreement enables rapid research, prototyping, testing, production, and fielding of UAS and C‑UAS systems as the Air Force strengthens defenses against the proliferation of small drones. Contract work will be carried out in San Luis Obispo, California, and will continue through August 2030.

Trust Automation focuses on electronic counter‑UAS solutions that target drone command‑and‑control and GNSS frequencies. Its primary offering, the Small Unmanned Air Defense System, provides layered protection for fixed sites such as air bases, along with quickly deployable variants for forward‑deployed forces.

Built around a modular architecture, the system can detect, track, and neutralize Group 1–2 aerial threats weighing up to 25 kilograms, flying at speeds of up to 250 knots and altitudes of 3,500 feet. The company’s GAT UAS Jammer further extends these capabilities, offering a compact, rail‑mounted or handheld device for direct GNSS‑band counter‑drone operations.
