For an unnamed European country, Exail has been awarded a contract to provide a fleet of five DriX H-8 unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).
The USV will be used for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.
The DriX H-8, which was first created for hydrographic operations, can carry a variety of payloads to allow for the collection of high-quality data in both deep and shallow seas.
The French company has not released any more information regarding the agreement. The USV is capable of operating in sea state level 5 and can be remotely controlled or autonomously supervised.
The platform has the ability to travel at 14 knots (26 km/16 mph) for 24 hours and 7 knots (13 km/8 mph) for 7 days.
At a speed of 4 knots (7.4 kilometers/4.6 miles), it can complete a ten-day mission.
The 7.71-meter (25.29-foot) platform has a 2-meter (6.56-foot) draught and a 1.4-ton (14,000 kilogram/30,800 pound) displacement.
The USV is equipped with a 38HP Diesel engine and a fuel tank that can hold 250 liters (66 gallons) of fuel, with an average consumption rate of 2 liters (0.5 gallons) per hour.
