Patria has launched an advanced passive radar platform that uses existing broadcast signals to detect and monitor airborne threats without transmitting radio-frequency emissions. The technology can reportedly follow as many as 500 projectiles at once, giving military operators a significant battlefield awareness advantage. By exploiting digital television transmitters for target illumination, the system maintains broad surveillance coverage while remaining difficult to locate. The radar’s ability to track large volumes of incoming fire supports counter-battery operations and force protection, particularly in environments where survivability against enemy electronic intelligence assets is essential.
