Blue Raven has awarded Raytheon a major contract for 120 SharpSight surveillance radars in what represents the largest procurement so far for the advanced airborne sensor system. The agreement includes radar manufacturing and sustainment services, while Blue Raven will manage worldwide distribution and sales operations. SharpSight combines capabilities from Raytheon’s proven HISAR and SeaVue radar families to provide multi-domain surveillance functions for both manned and unmanned aircraft. Capable of tracking and classifying over 1,000 targets simultaneously through integrated radar processing and automatic identification system data, the radar is optimized for coastal monitoring, anti-piracy missions, economic exclusion zone enforcement, smuggling interdiction, and environmental observation tasks from extended stand-off distances.
