India is developing advanced radar technology to detect hypersonic missiles traveling above Mach 5. A major challenge lies in tracking objects surrounded by a plasma layer formed due to extreme heat and air compression at high speeds. This plasma envelope interferes with traditional radar signals, making detection difficult. The new system aims to overcome these limitations through advanced sensing and tracking technologies, strengthening India’s missile defense capabilities against next-generation threats.
