The US Army is investing heavily in the expansion of radar testing facilities at Tobyhanna Army Depot in Pennsylvania to accommodate a growing number of sophisticated radar and electronic warfare programs. The initiative includes a two-stage development plan featuring new testing infrastructure, expanded facilities, and additional radar evaluation sites. A future calibration tower will further enhance measurement accuracy and support increasingly complex systems entering military service. Located on Powder Smoke Ridge, the depot benefits from low levels of radio-frequency interference, making it an ideal environment for precision testing. The expansion is expected to significantly increase throughput and strengthen the Army’s ability to validate and sustain advanced radar technologies for future operational requirements.
