The Brazilian Army has received the first two upgraded SABER M60 radar systems after Embraer completed their conversion to the 2.0 configuration. The contract covers eight radars and follows a mid-life modernization strategy aimed at improving system lifespan and operational consistency across the fleet. Designed for low-altitude air defense missions, the radar can monitor targets out to 60 kilometers while tracking dozens of contacts at once. The latest version introduces refreshed hardware and updated software algorithms to improve detection, tracking, and performance in contested electromagnetic environments. Embraer also upgraded the operating interface to simplify battlefield use and maintain compatibility with layered missile and gun-based defense networks.
