Saab will supply France with 17 Giraffe 1X air defense radars under a new contract aimed at improving the French Armed Forces’ ability to detect drones and other aerial threats. Mounted on tactical vehicles, the mobile radar systems will support short-range air defense missions and rapid deployment operations. The deal includes integration work with Scania France as well as training and maintenance support. France joins several European countries expanding the use of Giraffe 1X systems as demand grows for compact counter-drone surveillance solutions capable of operating in dynamic battlefield conditions.
