KNDS has introduced the CAPINT armored warfare concept, a Leopard 2 A8-derived main battle tank tailored for future French Army requirements. Equipped with a powerful 1,500-hp diesel engine, the vehicle emphasizes connectivity and collaboration with unmanned systems. Its architecture supports the operation of robotic companion vehicles capable of conducting reconnaissance, extending sensor coverage, and enhancing battlefield intelligence. These unmanned wingmen can operate ahead of the tank, reducing crew exposure while improving target acquisition and situational awareness. The initiative demonstrates KNDS’ vision for future land combat, where crewed tanks function as command hubs within a wider network of autonomous platforms. By combining proven Leopard 2 technology with advanced digital integration, CAPINT seeks to provide a modern and adaptable solution for next-generation armored operations.
