Diehl Defence has showcased the IRIS-T SLS MK4, a next-generation mobile short-range air defense system developed to address evolving airborne threats. Presented at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2026, the platform integrates surveillance radar, battle management systems, missile launch capability, and effectors into a single vehicle, simplifying deployment and reducing response times. The company highlighted the system’s substantially increased payload capacity, which is eight times greater than previous variants, allowing it to carry more interceptors and extend operational endurance. The IRIS-T SLS MK4 is designed to strengthen air defense coverage against drones, helicopters, aircraft, and other low-altitude threats in highly dynamic combat environments.
