Turkish defense company FNSS is developing the İ-ZAHA multi-purpose unmanned modular amphibious vehicle to help reduce risks to personnel during the most exposed stages of amphibious operations.The system is designed as an unmanned modular amphibious platform capable of performing different battlefield functions while operating across both land and water. By removing the crew from the vehicle, the concept could allow forces to conduct selected missions in areas where conventional crewed platforms face elevated risks.The U-MAV weighs approximately 8 tons and can reach speeds of up to 7 knots in water. On land, it can travel at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour, giving the vehicle mobility across different operating environments.One of its main features is its modular architecture. The platform can be converted into 10 different mission configurations by changing interchangeable payload modules.These modules are designed to be replaced in the field in approximately 40 minutes. This approach could allow commanders to adapt the vehicle to changing mission requirements without requiring a completely different platform for every task.The İ-ZAHA concept highlights the growing use of unmanned systems in amphibious warfare. Autonomous and remotely operated platforms can potentially conduct reconnaissance, logistics, protection, or other support tasks while keeping personnel farther away from immediate danger.Its combination of amphibious mobility, modular payloads, and unmanned operation is intended to give military users greater flexibility during complex coastal operations.
