The US Army has awarded Saab a $22.4-million order for its Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System, a solution designed to improve combat training realism and readiness. VTESS employs laser-based technologies that can be installed on existing military platforms and weapon systems to simulate live battlefield engagements. The system tracks vehicle movements, casualty status, and engagement outcomes, providing commanders and trainees with valuable performance insights. Compatible with legacy Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems, VTESS supports large-scale exercises and integrated training environments. The contract falls within a broader framework arrangement extending for 60 months and valued at up to $60.8 million.
