India’s Future Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV) programme is entering a critical development phase as AVNL expands industry participation through new requests related to armour protection and survivability technologies. The project aims to replace over 2,600 BMP-2 vehicles with a next-generation platform capable of operating in highly contested modern battlefields. Designed with modular protection, advanced firepower, amphibious capability, and digital networking features, the FICV will significantly enhance mechanised infantry effectiveness across diverse operational environments.
