NATO’s procurement agency has initiated deliveries of 120mm tank ammunition from Rheinmetall valued at roughly €200 million. The order falls under a Basic Contractual Instrument signed in 2025 that enables member states to acquire standardized tank rounds efficiently. Rheinmetall’s 120mm smoothbore ammunition, widely used on Leopard 2 and Abrams tanks, includes armor-piercing and multi-purpose high-explosive variants. The framework ensures interoperability and replenishes critical stocks across allied forces.
