The French Army has selected Soframe to provide a new generation of Heavy Recovery Vehicles aimed at improving combat service support and operational resilience. The contract, part of a broader modernization effort, will introduce armored recovery trucks capable of operating alongside frontline units and recovering damaged or immobilized platforms under battlefield conditions. Initial deliveries will cover 20 vehicles, with expansion options allowing the fleet to grow substantially based on operational demand. Drawing on a proven 8×8 recovery design already fielded by Belgium, the program emphasizes interoperability and European industrial cooperation. Equipped with powerful winches, underlift systems, protected mobility, and long operational range, the vehicles will significantly enhance the army’s ability to sustain high-intensity operations by rapidly returning equipment to service.
