Croatia’s decision to enter a multinational procurement framework with Tatra marks a significant step in modernizing its military vehicle fleet while deepening regional defense collaboration. Under the agreement, the Croatian Armed Forces can acquire up to 420 T-815 trucks across multiple configurations, including 6×6 and 8×8 variants, aligning with Slovakia’s parallel participation. The €1.03-billion framework provides a long-term acquisition pathway that allows orders to be placed based on evolving operational needs rather than a single bulk purchase. The T-815 platform has a long service history and is valued for its off-road mobility, durability, and versatility, supporting missions ranging from logistics and engineering to missile and artillery systems. Powered by an air-cooled turbocharged engine, the vehicle offers high payload capacity and extended operational range. The agreement supports NATO interoperability objectives while reinforcing the Czech defense industrial base. For Croatia, the framework enhances force mobility, standardization, and readiness across future operational scenarios.
