
The KF-21 Boramae, launched by South Korea in 2011, seeks to modernize its air force by replacing F-4 and F-5 jets by 2026. The aircraft is 17 meters long, 11 meters wide, and can hold 6,000kg of fuel. With two powerful F414 engines, it achieves Mach 1.8 and covers 1,500 nautical miles at elevations up to 16,700 meters. South Korea plans to field as many as 120 KF-21 jets by the end of the decade.
