Rheinmetall has secured a contract worth more than €500 million to provide 149 mobile rescue stations to the German Armed Forces. The order is part of a framework agreement awarded in December 2024 and increases Germany’s total order to 165 systems, raising the overall program value above €600 million. The package includes operator training and options for additional vehicles. Production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with deliveries continuing through 2029 as Germany replaces aging medical equipment. Rheinmetall’s Project Solutions division will oversee the program, making it the company’s largest contract in this segment. The systems are being developed under Germany’s Modular Medical Facilities initiative, which aims to provide scalable medical support for frontline operations and crisis response. Of the 149 vehicles, 112 will feature ballistic protection. The systems provide NATO Level 1 emergency medical care, including immediate treatment and life-saving assistance at tactical units. Each station incorporates two expandable containers that can be rapidly deployed by four personnel. Independent generators and climate-control systems allow the facilities to operate for several days in difficult terrain.
