The US Army is set to enhance its battlefield power capacity as Michigan Technological University develops a vehicle-mounted system capable of producing more than 120 kilowatts of electricity.
Built by the university’s Advanced Power Systems Research Center (APS LABS), the 600-volt direct current kit is engineered to provide expeditionary energy while remaining adaptable across various vehicle platforms. It is intended to sustain mission-critical assets such as missile defense systems, command centers, and field hospitals.
