The US Navy has officially accepted USS Patrick Gallagher (DDG-127), marking the final delivery of the highly successful Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA destroyer variant. Constructed by Bath Iron Works, the warship completed builder’s sea trials and was delivered more than two months earlier than planned. Equipped with advanced combat systems, a 96-cell vertical launch system, and facilities for dual helicopters, the vessel serves as a bridge between earlier destroyer designs and the more advanced Flight III configuration now entering service.
