Saab and Poland’s state-owned defense group PGZ have signed a new cooperation agreement focused on naval platforms, underwater systems, and future maritime defense technologies. The partnership includes plans for lifecycle support of naval vessels, integration of PGZ entities into Saab’s supply chain, and potential joint export initiatives involving surface and underwater platforms, including rescue vessels. The two companies will also explore cooperation in heavyweight torpedo development and evaluate the production and marketing of Saab’s Autonomous Ocean Drone system. A future Underwater Technology Centre is also planned for Poland to support innovation and industrial collaboration in maritime defense technologies. The agreement builds upon earlier cooperation linked to Poland’s Orka submarine modernization program and reflects Warsaw’s growing investment in domestic naval capabilities and strategic partnerships with European defense firms.
