Germany’s final Type 424 spy ship has entered production ahead of schedule. Built by Naval Vessels Lürssen, the new SIGINT class will succeed the long-serving Oste-class vessels. Equipped with modern reconnaissance sensors, self-protection systems, and low-noise propulsion, the ships are designed for discreet monitoring missions in national and allied waters. Deliveries are expected between 2029 and 2031, strengthening Germany’s maritime intelligence capabilities.
