Naval Group has secured a contract from the Dutch government to supply F21 heavyweight torpedoes for the Royal Netherlands Navy’s upcoming Orka-class submarines. The program includes weapon delivery, crew training, simulation systems, and sustainment support. Already operational with the French and Brazilian navies, the F21 provides advanced anti-surface and anti-submarine capabilities while offering improved performance over previous-generation torpedoes. The electrically powered weapon can engage targets at long distances with high precision, supporting the Netherlands’ efforts to modernize its submarine fleet and strengthen maritime deterrence capabilities within NATO.
