Ten European nations have agreed to strengthen cooperation under the Joint Expeditionary Force to address rising security threats in northern maritime regions. Led by the United Kingdom, the JEF includes the Netherlands, Nordic countries, and Baltic states, enhancing coordination across the High North, North Atlantic, and Baltic Sea. The force will operate from Northwood headquarters in London and focus on rapid deployment and joint operations. The initiative aligns with the UK’s “Hybrid Navy” strategy, which integrates unmanned systems such as autonomous escort vessels alongside traditional fleets to increase capability at lower cost.
