Bharat Dynamics Limited has delivered India’s first production-grade wire-guided heavyweight torpedo to NSTL, marking a major milestone in indigenous naval weapons. Developed with fiber-optic wire guidance and active-passive acoustic homing, the system improves underwater targeting accuracy. This achievement strengthens the Indian Navy’s anti-submarine warfare capability and places India among a select group of nations capable of producing advanced heavyweight torpedoes, supporting the broader goal of self-reliance in defence technology.
