The commissioning of INS Aridhaman marks a critical advancement in India’s nuclear triad, with indigenous content reaching approximately 85%. Its successor, the S4*, is expected to achieve up to 90% localization, showcasing the maturity of India’s defense manufacturing ecosystem. Featuring enhanced stealth, quieter propulsion, and advanced hydrodynamics such as an X-shaped rudder, the platform improves survivability and maneuverability. Over 200 MSMEs contribute to the program, reinforcing supply chain resilience and reducing foreign dependency. These developments pave the way for the future S5-class submarines.
