The Royal Canadian Navy has tested the US-built MK 54 lightweight torpedo aboard HMCS Regina as part of its Halifax-class modernization. Developed by Raytheon, the torpedo enhances anti-submarine warfare capabilities. The evaluation validated performance and safety as Canada replaces older MK 46 systems under a 2019 procurement deal for 425 conversion kits.
