The ORP Henryk Zygalski, Poland’s second DELFIN-class electronic intelligence vessel, has been launched by Saab, completing the country’s two-ship DELFIN program after ORP Jerzy Różycki launched in July 2025.
Both ships are now entering the outfitting and mission integration phase, preparing for sea trials and eventual entry into service. The DELFIN-class vessels will employ sophisticated electronic intelligence systems to detect, identify, and analyze signals at sea.
Saab serves as the program’s lead contractor, providing and integrating the mission suites. Ship construction was carried out by Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A., with MMC of Poland offering design support. Additional collaboration comes from local defense industry partners.
Delivery of the ships is expected in 2027 and 2028. Poland’s ongoing modernization efforts also include acquiring Saab A26 submarines through the “Orka” initiative to replace its last Kilo-class boat, along with a strategic partnership with WB Group to pursue industrial opportunities in unmanned systems, naval platforms, and border protection technologies.
